America… A Divided Nation

After listening to President Obama address the Nation after failed negotiations with the top GOP mouth piece (Not Rush, even though Boehner consulted with Rush before his speech to the nation and world), to raise the nation debt ceiling. I was reminded of a recent documentary I viewed about the first Republican President, Abraham Lincoln. The social atmosphere of those dark times when the country was divided by partisan lines on the issues of American Slavery and Succession are not much different than these troubled times today.

Lincoln believed to save the nation from historical shame that the institution of slavery could not be allow to expand to new territory. The Southern Democrats were bent on fighting to preserve their way of life by keeping Africans enslaved and spreading slavery, to every newly adopted state that wanted to practice the crime against humanity within their boarders.

Oh, how times have changed, seemly. The script has flipped somewhat in today's politics. Whereas, 171 years ago the President attempting to preserve the Nation was a White Republican. Today the President attempting to save the nation from an economic crisis, unseen since the Great Depression, is a Black Democrat.

The questions posed today to each American Citizen is; Do you believe you are equal with the wealthiest of American (Rich Fat Cats), and taxes should not be raised to balance the budget there by allowing the rich to continue hording their wealth in Wall Street banks, and watch the middle class disappear into the ranks of already millions of poor citizens living in America?

Today's Separatist is American Greed, and the ideology of lassie - fair which is enspoused by the GOP. They use the underling social practice of racism, to reinforce racial streotypes tagged to the social ills founded in Black communities in practically, every city in this nation.

Finally, I ask, White America, will they overcome their prejudice, to allow and support an African American President prevent the "Fall of America," and the pending financial doom? America this maybe, your last chance to do right by the least amongst you.
